Adding an Animated Text to an Animation

This tut will show you how to add an animated text to an animation.
Open your PSP and Animation Shop.
In Animation Shop, open the animation you want text added.

Count the frames on that animation, because that is how many frames your animated Text must have to be inserted in the animation.

You can do this by making the text with all the frames, or by making the text with half the frames and duplicating them in Animation shop to make the full set of frames.

You will be using both programs together.
First make your glitter text in PSP.
For a reminder how to do that click the link below.
Adding Glitter to Text

The animation I will be adding text to has 4 frames.
Photobucket
I will be making 4 layers of sparkled text in PSP and taking it over to Animation Shop to animate.
For a reminder how to add sparkles click the link below.
Adding Sparkles

Ok so we have our text over in animation Shop and we have our animation that we want to add text to open in animation shop.
Photobucket
Now let's add the animated text to the animation.
Click on the first frame of your animated Text.
Photobucket
Click EDIT..SELECT ALL..
Click EDIT..COPY

Over to the animation to add text.
Make sure you have the first frame of that animation activated.
Click EDIT..... SELECT ALL....

Photobucket
Click EDIT...PASTE INTO SELECTED FRAME.
Photobucket
Put your cursor on the FIRST FRAME of the animation. The text will be attached to your cursor.
When you have the text placed where you want it, left click your mouse and the text will drop into place.

Your animated text should now appear in all frames of the animation.
Crop if needed, view animation, and if you're happy with it, save as a .gif.
Photobucket

**Note**Some animations don't have room to add text, so you will have to create a new animation prior to adding the text.
Click below and look at the bottom section of that tutorial.

ADDING SPARKLES USING A PLUGIN

This tut will show you how to add sparkles to an image using VM Natural sparkle plugin.
Download your plugin, and put it in your PSP plugin folder.
This is where you will find your plugins in your PSP program.
Photobucket
Remember, it is LAYERS that make the frames for animation.
We will be working with 5 layers in this tutorial.
1-background
2-tube
3-spark 1
4-spark 2
5-spark 3

Let's begin.

Open a new transparent canvas and fill with color from the tube you're using.
Put a texture on the color. You'll find those in effects...textures.
Activate your tube.... Edit... copy.
Activate your new canvas.. Edit.. paste as a new layer.
Duplicate your tube 3 x's. Rename the duplicated layers spark 1, spark 2 spark 3.
Photobucket
X out the lil eye beside "spark 2 and spark 3"layers.

Photobucket
Highlight "spark 1" layer.
Go to EFFECTS.... PLUGINS... VM NATURAL.. SPARKLE
Photobucket
Add sparkles with settings below.
Photobucket
CLICK OK.
Take X off "spark 2" layer and X out "spark 1 and spark 3" layers. Highlight "spark 2" layer.
Effects.... and apply the sparkle again... but this time only change the "RANDOM SEED SETTING" to 186.
Click ok.
Take X off "spark 3" layer and X out "spark 1 and spark 2" layers. Highlight "spark 3"layer.
Effects..... and apply the sparkle again... change the random seed to 216.
Click ok.
We are now ready to put it together and animated those sparkles.
On your layer palette, X out "spark 2 and spark 3" layers.
Make sure "spark 1" layer has not got an X on the lil eye.

Highlight background layer.
Photobucket
Edit.... COPY MERGED.
Over to animation shop.. Edit. paste as a new animation.
Back to PSP.
Take the X off "spark 2 layer" and X out "spark 1 and spark 3"layers.
Keep the background highlighted.

Edit... COPY MERGED.
Over to animation shop..Edit... PASTE AFTER CURRENT FRAME.
Back to PSP.
Take the X off "spark 3 layer" and X out "spark 1 and spark 2" layers.
Again, make sure the background layer is hightlighted.
Edit...COPY MERGED.
Over to animation shop...Edit...PASTE AFTER CURRENT FRAME.
You now have 3 frames in Animation shop.
Speed is set at 10.
View animation, if you like it, save it as a .gif.
Photobucket
Have fun adding SPARKLES!!
*** If you want to add sparkles to a ready made graphic or image, simply duplicate the graphic 2 times to give you 3 layers of that graphic.
Add the sparkles to each layer as above and take one layer at a time to animation shop to animate.***

ADDING GLITTER TO TEXT

This tut will show you how to use noise in your PSP to create an animated text in animation shop.
Open PSP and Animation Shop.
Begin with an ready made image or make one which ever you prefer.
I made my image, then merged flat.
It shows on the layer palette as "background".
Photobucket

Pick your colors and font for the text.
Apply the text as a vector layer.

Photobucket

I like vector layers, because I can move them around, stretch them etc... and place them were I want before converting to a raster.
When your happy with the text.. go to the layer palette and convert to raster.
Photobucket
When you have converted the layer, right click on your mouse and rename that layer to "TEXT".
Photobucket
You can now duplicate that layer. 2 x's. For a total of 3 TEXT LAYERS.
Photobucket
Rename the layers.. TEXT 2.. TEXT 3
Photobucket
This is what it should look like in your layer palette.
Photobucket
With "TEXT" highlighted..... go to "adjust"... add noise.
Photobucket
ADD noise on your first text layer.
Photobucket
Those are the settings I used, but you can play around to find one you like. The higher the number the more noise added.
Highlight "TEXT 2" layer.
Adjust... add noise....change the amount to a higher number.
Photobucket
Highlight "TEXT 3"layer.
Adjust.... add noise... change the amount to a higher number.
Photobucket
Now that noise is applied on all layers of the text.
X out the lil eye on the layer palette beside "text 2 and text 3".
Photobucket
Go to EDIT... COPY MERGED.
Photobucket
Over to animation shop.
Edit.... paste. paste as a new animation.
Photobucket
Back to PSP.
X out "TEXT and TEXT 3"layers.
Photobucket
EDIT.... COPY MERGED.
Back to Animation Shop....EDIT.. PASTE.. PASTE AFTER CURRENT FRAME.
Photobucket
Back to PSP.
X out "TEXT and TEXT 2" layers.
EDIT.... COPY MERGED.
Photobucket
In Animation Shop, EDIT. PASTE...PASTE AFTER CURRENT FRAME.
You should now have 3 FRAMES in Animation shop.
Photobucket
Click on View animation. If you like the animation, save as a .gif.
Your finished!

MAKING A SEAMLESS BACKGROUND

This is an effect that will take away any seams in a background so that it will flow without breaks.
Play with the settings to find ones you like and the effect you want.

In PSP open your tube you want to use as your background image.
Open a new canvas.
Click on Layers, add new raster layer.
Pick a color from your tube to use as the background color.
Click on your fill tool and fill that raster with the color. Add a texture if you want. ( See texture tut for this process)
Copy and paste your tube onto your new canvas.
Go to layers, merge, merge flat.

Now we are going to make the seamless tile.
Go to effects, image effects, seamless tile.
Photobucket
Here are the settings I used.
Photobucket
To view, check the box on preview and it will show you the tiling before you click ok.
Photobucket
If you like it, click ok.
Photobucket
Your finished. Save as a jpeg.
If you would prefer to use a graphic instead of a tube for your tile, then follow the same steps using effects, image effects, seamless tile.
Photobucket
And your seamless is finished, save as a jpeg.

ADDING TEXT TO ANIMATIONS

A simple way to add a text to any animation using PSP and Animation shop together.
Open your PSP and animation shop.
In animation shop look in your folders, find the animation you want the text on.
Activate ( put cursor on) the first frame.
Click top toolbar, EDIT, COPY.
Go over to PSP.
Click EDIT, PASTE AS A NEW IMAGE.
The first frame of your animation is now in PSP.
This will help you determine size and placement of text.

Photobucket
Pick the color and font of text you want on the animation.
You can use the dropper to match colors in the animation by clicking on the color box and bringing dropper (cursor) onto the animation.
Once you have your color of text, click on your text tool and apply your text as a vector layer.
Vector layer allows you to stretch or shrink by pulling the nodes.
When you have the size and shape of text you want, convert that layer to a raster.
Photobucket

Now you can add effects to the text.
I have used and inner bevel and drop shadow.
Photobucket
Photobucket
Click ok, then back to effects for your drop shadow.
Photobucket
Once you like the text, it's time to copy that layer and paste it in animation shop as a new animation.
Photobucket
Photobucket
To make sure the text appears in ALL FRAMES of the animation, activate the animation ( put your cursor on the first frame of animation) click EDIT, SELECT ALL. This selects all the frames.
Photobucket
Now your going to paste your text into all frames on the animation.
Click the propagate paste icon on your toolbar. It's the 3 lil stacked papers.
Photobucket
Photobucket
Drag the text over to the first frame of the animation.
Let go of your cursor when you have the text placed where you want it on the animation. It will then appear in all frames.
Photobucket
Photobucket
Your finished!
Photobucket
Sometimes the animation you want to add text to doesn't have enough room.
In this case, you must first make a new animation before copying the frame in PSP.
Here are the steps for that process.

Open a new canvas in animation shop.
Photobucket
The color will depend on what the background color is on the original animation, use the same background color in your new canvas. Sometimes, the back on the original is transparent, if that is the case with the one you are working on, then make the new canvas transparent too.
I find it easier to make the new canvas with a white background because I love adding effects to the text.
When a text with effects is on a transparent back, the outline is not always appealing.
Play around till you find what you like.

Ok on with the tut.
Make all the same amount of frames in your new animation as in your original. You will find this number out by looking at the bottom of your original animation.
F= frames
D= speed of the frame
Photobucket
Always make the top number 1 less than the full frame amount.
Photobucket
Now we are going to copy the original onto the new canvas.
Activate the orginal animation, edit, SELECT ALL,
Photobucket
edit, COPY.

Photobucket
Activate your new canvas ( put cursor on first frame)
Edit, SELECT ALL.
Photobucket
Edit, paste into selected frame.
This makes sure you have selected all frames for the copy to go be pasted.
Photobucket
Now all your frames have the image pasted.
Photobucket
You are now ready to add your text following the steps using PSP.
